IPS e.max System- innovative all ceramic system

We now have 2 types of e.max systems offered: Pressed e.max and CAD e.max

IPS e.max Press are lithium disilicate glass-ceramic ingots for the press technique.

IPS e.max CAD is the clinically proven lithium disilicate block which provides the solution for all your CAD/CAM needs.

IPS e.max Press lithium disilicate glass-ceramic (LS2) offers excellent fit, form and function combined with high strength of 500 MPa. The material is supplied in seven levels of translucency and ingot two sizes. The resulting restorations exhibit lifelike aesthetics, regardless of the clinical situation.

IPS e.max Press is used to produce single-tooth restorations, bridges for the anterior and premolar region, inlays, onlay, implant superstructures and custom implant abutments.

A wide selection of ingots are available from which users can choose to suit their preferred processing technique (staining, cut-back or layering technique) and clinical demands. The restorations are characterised or veneered with coordinated staining materials or layering ceramic from the IPS e.max Ceram assortment. Materials intended for full-contour restorations are available in 16 A-D and four Bleach BL shades. The substructure materials for the layering technique are supplied in varing levels of chromatic shades.

Available ingots

Multi ingots

These polychromatic and polytranslucent ingots provide a natural shade progression from the margin to the incisal edge, and enable technicians to achieve a strong and highly aesthetic restoration without needing to cutback and layer.

HT ingots

The high translucency ingots (HT) are ideal for the fabrication of minimally invasive full-contour restorations, such as inlays, onlays and veneers. The restorations can then be characterised with staining materials in the IPS e.max Ceram line.

MT ingots

The medium translucency ingots (MT) are perfect for a variety of indications from thin veneers to 3-unit bridges and are ideal for restorations requiring a higher brightness level than HT and more translucency than LT.

LT ingots

Full-contour partial crowns and crowns are fabricated beautifully with the low translucency ingots (LT). In the anterior region in particular, the aesthetic appearance of the restorations is maximised by employing the cut-back technique.

MO ingots

The medium opacity ingots (MO) are used to fabricate substructures for vital or slightly discoloured teeth. They create an ideal basis for lifelike restorations completed with the layering technique.

HO ingots

In cases where the prepared tooth structure is discolored or titanium abutments are used, the HO ingots mask the dark background to achieve highly aesthetic results.

Impulse Opal ingots

The best option for enamel replacement. Restorations fabricated with these ingots exude exceptionally opalescent properties making them ideal for (thin) veneers with light teeth requiring an opalescent effect.

IPS e.max CAD is an innovative lithium disilicate glass-ceramic for fabrication in-house utilising authorised chairside CAD/CAM systems. This unrivalled material combines highly aesthetic qualities with exceptional user-friendliness. Unlike other CAD/CAM materials, IPS e.max CAD covers a comprehensive spectrum of indications. A wide range of translucency levels, shades and block sizes offer greater flexibility for challenging clinical situations. Tried-and-tested cementation materials have been specifically designed to complement IPS e.max CAD to provide long lasting and durable restorations.

IPS e.max CAD blocks can be milled in the Ivoclar Vivadent PrograMill One, the CEREC System (Sirona) and Planmeca FIT System (E4D Technologies).

IPS e.max CAD – The highlights

  • Leading CAD/CAM material – considerably higher strength compared with competitive glass and hybrid ceramics

  • Broad range of indications

  • Scientifically and clinically proven

  • Wide availability due to the CAD/CAM partner network (fabrication in-house and by authorised milling centers)

  • Tried-and-tested cementation materials are coordinated to work specifically with lithium disilicate (LS2)

Indications

  • Veneers (0.4mm)

  • Inlays, onlays

  • Partial crowns

  • Crowns

  • Three-unit bridges (up to the second premolar as the terminal abutment)

Additional IPS e.max CAD applications

IPS e.max CAD Abutment Solutions

IPS e.max CAD Abutment Solutions are designed for the fabrication of implant-supported hybrid structures for single teeth using CAD/CAM technology. The hybrid components are individually milled from IPS e.max CAD lithium disilicate blocks and bonded to a titanium base.

Depending on the patient situation, a temporary Telio CAD Hybrid Abutment crown is inserted immediately after implant placement. This temporary restoration offers many options in terms of soft tissue management and forms the basis for an aesthetic and functional permanent IPS e.max CAD restoration.

The IPS e.max CAD A14 and A16 blocks feature a pre-fabricated interface, e.g. for the Sirona Ti base. The blocks are available in several shades and two levels of translucency, MO for hybrid abutments and LT for hybrid abutment crowns.

Indications

  • Hybrid abutments

  • Hybrid abutment crowns

IPS e.max CAD Veneering Solutions

IPS e.max CAD Veneering Solutions are CAD/CAM manufactured veneer structures for zirconium oxide frameworks (ZrO2). The unrivalled combination of lithium disilicate (LS2) and zirconium oxide (ZrO2) enables the creation of tooth and implant-supported bridge restorations (CAD-on) of exceptional strength and aesthetics.

Indications

  • Crowns

  • Bridges (three-unit and multi-unit, also on implants)
